RUM CAKE

 

 

INGREDIENTS
1 cup of butter
2 cups of sugar
6 Eggs
2 cups sifted unbleached flour
1 tsp of cinnamon
2 tsp of vanilla
1/8 tsp salt
1/4 cup local rum

DIRECTIONS
Blend the butter and sugar into a cream. Add eggs one at a time, beat well after each addition Add flour, salt, cinnamon, vanilla, rum & blend well. Bake in a greased loaf pan for 45 – 60 minutes at 300 degrees.



INGREDIENTS – Rum Sauce
2 Tbs Karo syrup
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/4 cups water
1/2 cup local rum

DIRECTIONS
For Rum Sauce, bring all the ingredients to a boil. Remove from heat, add rum. Pour over cake while still warm.
